The Process Of Preparing Striper Lures

By Christa Jarvis

Fishing can be regarded as part of the most amazing outdoor activities an individual can ever be involved in. This action is however fun only if one is actually catching the fishes. To make this happen, it is essential that all factors related to the fishing are prepared correctly. For instance, when the fishes being caught are stripers, an individual must know how to organize the striper lures. During the making of a lure if it is for a striper or any other fish, one must always learn how to make the best knot.

Before learning how to tie the lure, there are some requirements that must be bought like the reel and the fishing rods. An extra-long line is needed for this activity because it will give some extra slack. The first thing to do when learning this process is to tie the rope like you are tying shoes by doubling the rope over at around five inches.

The second step is to let the whole loop pass through the lure very carefully so that it does not get undone. After doing this, there should be two sections through the eye of the lure. After completing the second step, another overhead look just like the first should be tied. To make sure it is tight, the ends should be pulled in the opposite directions and later trim off the excess line.

When carrying out this activity, there are various warnings and tips that can be very useful. First and foremost, one must make sure that they understand that there is a tag end that should be hanging at the end while the other length will be hanging loosely on the rod. They can also take into consideration that wetting the knots with a little bit of saliva can make them much stronger.

They must also avoid burning the ends of the knots as opposed to trimming them off with nail clippers because this can make them really weak. They must also always give themselves some leeway that will make the whole task easier. While doing this activity, one can easily hook themselves by accident therefore they must be very careful.

Learning how to make the lures is not the only important thing when going fishing. One must also know the best bait to be used on the lures. For instance, the shad is possibly the most commonly used bait by fishers. Shad can be found below or at the end of dams. It can be identified by its silver body with a green back and large scales. One must pick the shads that are around four inches.

Another good example of baits for catching fish are the American eels. This is a worm with a snake looking body and very sharp teeth. They have very tiny and sharp-pointed heads. They may be found in many water sheds, rivers, ponds, streams and other places. They are tempting to stripers hence good for bait.

With all the above information then fishing should not be a hard thing to pull off. This will make the activity fun and above all successful. If the right thing is done then the number of fish caught will be so many that one will have a problem taking them all home.
