Memorial Day is round the corner. For those who will be holidaying in Las Vegas, put in some efforts to make your holiday both outstanding and unforgettable. One of the best ways to tour the city is through Grand Canyon flight and you are sure to find one from the many options fitting both your requirements and financial plan
Taking Tours from Vegas
Vegas tours come in two varieties. There are flyover tours, and then there are landing tours. Whichever option you choose, you will follow the same route on the way out to the Grand Canyon. This means that there will be a flyover of the Lake Mead reservoir, and the impressive Hoover Dam. Once at the Canyon, the flyover tour will perform some scenic passes, before heading back to Vegas. If you choose the landing option, then your helicopter will either set you down at the top, or the bottom of the Canyon.
The bottom landing tour is my personal favorite, and it's also hugely popular with visitors. You land down by the Colorado where on alighting the helicopter you can have a memorable time with a champagne picnic. You have to take a boat tour to get the most out of the bottom-landing trip, and get a chance to view the Canyon with a completely different outlook.
The many hiking routes and observation points on the West Rim are what make the top landing tour so attractive. There is another immensely well-known sight amongst tourists which is the Grand Canyon skywalk. Standing at 70ft from the platform's edge and 4000ft from the Canyon's bottom the transparent flooring gives you the an outstanding tingling experience. One of the legal photographers of the park will take your photo at this penultimate photo point.
South Rim
You have to take a short air trip spanning an hour to reach South Rim, which is in adjacent Arizona, from Las Vegas. There is a 50minute helicopter ride at the South Rim, which crosses the North and South rims and the park's eastern region's borders. If you plan to visit the South Rim, it is better if you take the flight than drive down as the road trip spans 5.5 hours from Vegas on car or tour bus.
Booking Deluxe Tours
When you book your tickets, you will need to choose between basic and deluxe. I always recommend deluxe, because there's only a moderate increase in ticket price, and for that you will get the best experience. Deluxe tours use the EcoStar 130 helicopter, which is custom built for sightseeing. It has a larger viewing window than any other helicopter, and it has large seats in a stadium layout so that nobody's view is obstructed. Deluxe tours also include a limousine shuttle service, which adds a little bit of extra value to your already fantastic tour package.
Verdict
Lastly, make it a point to make advance reservations. If you ask me, reservations should be made no later than fifteen days from the date you intend to fly. You don't want to miss your tickets with Memorial Day and its peripheral days being so busy. For confirmed seat reservations, use your credit cards while making convenient online bookings. Online bookings also assure you premium prices.
It's going to be hot at Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, so don't forget to bring a pack with sunblock, bottled water, some snacks, and some light clothing that will cover your arms. Choose your date and your tour package, and get ready for one of the best adventures available anywhere in North America.
