By Ronald Howard

Nothing beats a tropical vacation and who would not want to visit Costa Rica, time and money budget allowing. You may want to have a vacation close to nature and Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica may seem like an ideal place for this. Thus before you pack your bag here are some tips to find good Manuel Antonio Hotels for you.

Definitely you need to do some planning first and a checklist would not hurt. This checklist will also definitely ensure that you leave no stone unturned in getting all the information you need for a successful vacation accommodation wise. It never hurts to have this simple checklist to begin with.

First and foremost look at your budget first. Rich people and those loaded with cash will not even take a second look at this, but not everyone is rich and loaded. Put in mind that this Costa Rican escapade at the minimum can set you back USD 1,600 per head on accommodations alone, with a bit of touring and sightseeing. Double check if you can really part with this amount.

Activities wise there are plenty of things to do in the Manuel Antonio area for the nature lover. The park is dotted with many hiking trails throughout its 680 hectares area and most of the forty plus hotels and lodges in the area will have some form of package for you. If you plan a lot of activities within the park itself, remember that the park is open only from Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 am to 4pm. Also there is a limit of six hundred visitors on weekends and eight hundred visitors on weekdays.

Amenities wise most of the hotels do give the most basic of traveler needs. The closest accommodations are only 3km from the park itself, numbering thirty seven, and you can choose from two star class accommodations all the way to four stars. Depending on the season and demand one can get rooms for as low as USD 56 and as high USD 1423 per night.

Take note also of your estimated duration of stay for this can affect your overall expense budget. Sometimes some hotels do give free nights stay depending on whether you spend a third consecutive night with them. Others also give special discounts to families and children. Do ask for special rates so you can extend or lessen your stay accordingly.

Season will also affect your bookings when going to visit Manuel Antonio. December to April is usually the driest months and also the peak months as most go to Costa Rica for the beaches. However, it is best to visit during the wetter off season months of April to November when everything is greener and more alive, particularly when it comes to visiting Manuel Antonio reserve.

And of course please remember that you will be traveling to a tropical country so do pack accordingly. Light clothes only and if possible cotton ones. Pack plenty of bug spray also and be prepared for a lot of sweating.
