Korean people have a spicy menu because the Japanese people have fresh goods. American menu is famous because of its oil and portion while French menu is famous because of its elegance. Food is very important in every culture. It is a defining factor when travelling. However, there are really no rules about food. You just have to enjoy it and appreciate it in your own way. If you can't enjoy the taste, at least respect the person who prepared it for you.
