Kentucky's Biggest Event Is Calling You

By Christopher Kringal

The most beautiful event takes place in Louisville, Kentucky. The city is filled with happiness and partying around Derby time and people absolutely remember the event for years to come. There is so much excitement to be expected at every one of these events.

The Derby is so fun, in fact, that the Kentucky people start almost a month beforehand with their partying. You will find great fireworks displays during Thunder Over Louisville and people will drink and take their partying to the streets for a week or two afterward.

People will not wait for the last minute to plan their stay during the festival. If you're coming from out of town you'll want to plan far in advance. The hotels and clubs fill up fast. It seems like everyone in Kentucky attends and the only thing in the world that matters is this festival. Plan wisely because you could be left out in the cold if you don't make reservations early.

If you keep your eyes peeled you'll likely see some celebrities attend the derby. It is a time where some of the hottest hats and fashion emerge. People travel from far and wide to attend this event because of its legendary following. You will have the bourbon flowing and parties going on all night long into the early hours of the morning every morning for weeks.

You can cheer on your favorite horse on Friday night and into Saturday. Most of the partying and excitement goes on through that Sunday anyway. So even if you aren't a fan of racing you'll still enjoy the social aspect. It is an event like no other and the energy felt throughout Louisville during that time is palpable. People take off entire weekends to savor the event.

Everything is going to cost a bit more than normal around this time. This is a simple law of supply and demand. Because there will be so many people in the area buying up everything you are, there will be more competition to buy up these limited resources. Things such as hotels and even food prices will go up. You may even seen local gas stations expecting a bit more for their gas to help ration out their supply. So plan your budget well in advance.

The entire event lasts weeks. You will start off with the fabulous Thunder Over Louisville and go through the Derby racing weekend itself. The excitement and memories will last a lifetime so make sure you also take many pictures. Even after the bars and clubs close down you'll notice small gatherings sprout up here, there, and everywhere afterward. People enjoy savoring the energy in the air in Louisville so the parties take a long time to fizzle out. You'll enjoy it!
