Finding Major Airline Cheap Tickets

By Amanda Kirby

A lot of people on a tight travel budget turn to discount airlines as their first option to get tickets. You may not be interested at first with the concept of buying major airline cheap tickets, but you might save some money and not have to search that long for them.

When you fly on discount airlines, you may find they're not the bargain you'd hoped for. However, you can get some great service at a low cost with major airline cheap tickets. The customer service is excellent as compared to discount airlines, which are often delayed, with similarly "discounted" customer service.

There is a huge catch, or sometimes several, when it comes to flying on discount airlines. One example is having to stop by at various layovers instead of flying direct. You can stop by at multiple layovers, and get to your destination much later than what is actually scheduled.

Technical malfunctions and weather issues are other things you need to deal with when booking discount airline cheap tickets. You may get limited options from the discount airline, as opposed to major airlines who will have a wider selection of flights in case of a delay.

More often than not, you'll be left doing nothing at the airport except screaming at the airline agent. Discount airline cheap tickets may be cheap indeed, but expect Murphy's Law to rear its head from time to time. So why not book with a major airline instead? As discussed, you get more options. Layovers are fewer and shorter, and you can choose from different alternate landing points. You'll also generally have more choices about what time you leave and return home.

And because major airlines are often at war with each other, you're likely to find that you can get major airline cheap tickets for the same price or lower than discount airlines. And another thing about major airline cheap tickets is the fact that you have options - this bears repeating - whenever a flight may unexpectedly break down or get delayed by bad weather.

And in the event that the major airline has nothing to offer you, they can negotiate with other airlines to put you on another flight.

You'll have fewer hassles, spend about the same money, and be able to enjoy a smoother trip. Always consider major airlines when you're flying out on a limited budget so you can get reliable service at a low price.
