Many athletes in high school dream about getting recruited by a college to play football, and by taking a few steps it is possible to increase your chances. Although some might dislike hearing this first point, your high school grades do count. College coaching staffs do take note of these things when doing high school football recruiting.

Every time you play it may be a sensible idea to get a relative or friend to film each game. From these films you will be able to create a video dossier of yourself, showing your strengths and skills. With the assistance of your coach you will then be able to mail these film dossiers to particular collegiate coaches.

It may be worthwhile to attend as many sports camps as you can in your area. Find out from your coach, or your local press where these are being held. Quite often college coaches will be at these training camps looking for the next hot prospect.

This is one of the few things that as an individual you have control over, and it is definitely going to raise your profile. Another thing to bear in mind, after you have had a good game don't ignore any sports writers if they want to talk to you. They could be from one of the major sports recruiting companies, they get their interview, and your name starts to get mentioned in the right ears. Collegiate sports staff do take note of what these sports recruitment companies write.

So anyone wanting to get themselves noticed by collegiate sports staff are going to face an uphill struggle. However, just by following the simple steps noted above you can go a long way to improving your chances of getting noticed by the high school football recruiting colleges. Try to make your game play do the talking for you, and make it hard for them to ignore you.
